Multisite SupportThe plugin works on individual websites in the network.
For single posts (posts, pages and custom post types), the plugin can generate multiple breadcrumbs using different criteria. If post has more than one category or other terms, each term can be used to generate new breadcrumbs sequence, improving website interlinking and SEO.
The plugin is built around the idea of easy expanding with new features. Addons architecture is similar to one used by other Dev4Press plugins for WordPress. Version 1.0 includes 5 addons (bbPress, BuddyPress, WooCoomerce and GD Content Tools integration, and Shortcake UI plugin support).
To embed breadcrumbs and multi breadcrumbs, plugin includes 2 shortcodes and 2 functions. There is a third integration function that can display a custom list of crumbs you can provide to the function. All functions allow full styling and rules control for fine tuning customization.
The plugin includes two breadcrumbs display methods: plain and smart. The smart method allows you to customize breadcrumbs colors (predefined and custom), collapse the crumbs to save space, use animations to expand collapsed crumbs, extra effects (border, shadows and more). Smart breadcrumbs are responsive and they will turn into a menu for small screens (480px width) top save space.
Plain method is very simple, and allows you to change separator used between crumbs. Plain method is responsive, and it will display crumbs vertically. With CSS you can adjust break point for this.
The plugin includes full support for breadcrumbs markup used for rich snippets. Breadcrumbs rich snippets are supported by Google and if properly formatted, Google will use these breadcrumbs to improve the display of results from your website with breadcrumbs based navigation with results.
You can see examples of the image here made with the use of RDF based breadcrumbs markup. The plugin supports RDF, JSON-LD and Microdata. It works even with multiple breadcrumbs on a single page.
Web accessibility is increasingly important factor in web development, and with the accessibility support you are making sure that people with disablities are able to use your website.
