Simple Meta Fields

When it comes to adding additional information to posts, WordPress has custom fields. But, the interface for custom fields is very basic. If you want to have fields that are made for the different type of content (images, dates, color…), GD Content Tools Pro includes very powerful meta fields and meta boxes system.

The plugin allows you to have two types of fields: simple meta field and custom meta field. Once you create the fields you need, you have to create one or more meta boxes to arrange the fields you need.

Each field can be set as the repeater (some basic field types don’t allow repeaters) with an option to limit the number of repeated values, and you can set fields as required. If you need, you can add CSS class to control further styling for the field displayed inside the meta box.

To make simple or custom fields, plugin has over 30 basic field types you can use:

  • Text
  • Textarea
  • Boolean
  • Number
  • Link
  • Email
  • Color
  • Editor
  • Listing

Selection based fields have options to build the list of values to show the selection. Selection fields can pull data from the data functions, or from the values list, and they can use plain or associated lists of values.

On the other hand, fields like File or Image have no additional settings.
